A Weekend on Lake Como
If you are dreaming of a romantic weekend on Lake Como, Lenno is an excellent base for your stay. Here, you can immerse yourself in the authentic beauty of the lake, surrounded by landscapes full of olive groves and enchanting views that will make you feel embraced by nature.
Things to Do in Lenno
For those seeking relaxation, a romantic walk along the lake’s shores is ideal. You can follow the Lake Como Greenway, an easy and scenic trail that passes through several picturesque villages. In particular, the stretch between Lenno and Villa Balbianello is especially beautiful in the morning hours, when the air is fresh and the sunlight gently illuminates the landscape.
Also, don’t miss the chance to visit Villa del Balbianello, famous for its stunning gardens and breathtaking lake views.
The Greenway extends about 10 km, from Colonno to Griante, passing through Lenno and other small villages (you can also choose to walk only a part of it). This route is suitable for everyone and perfect for those who enjoy peaceful strolls amidst quiet harbors and sun-kissed olive groves.
If you travel by public transport, the bus line connecting the lakeside towns runs regularly. Tickets can be purchased at tobacconists, newsstands, and authorized shops in the various towns. On holidays and weekends, staff on board often sell tickets, but during the tourist season it is advisable to buy tickets in advance. For schedules and updates, you can check the official ASF Autolinee website.
Starting from Lenno, you can reach the famous Villa del Balbianello via a scenic path that winds through a charming forest. Alternatively, a taxi boat from the Lido di Lenno offers a spectacular arrival by lake.

The villa’s last owner, Guido Monzino, was an adventurous and curious traveler like us. He took part in expeditions to the North Pole and other extreme locations. Even today, the rooms of the villa hold maps, memorabilia, and stories of his exploits, telling a fascinating part of his life.
Opening Hours and Useful Information
The villa is open from March to November, closed on Mondays and non-holiday Wednesdays. It is managed by the FAI, which takes care of maintenance and access. We recommend checking the official website for updated opening times and booking your visit in advance: Villa del Balbianello – FAI.
